Description	:	Yoder, Joseph D., son of David and Eliza (Stutzman) Yoder, was born near Kalona, Iowa, July 17, 1888; died at the home of his son, Leo, in Archbold, Ohio, Sept. 12, 1957; aged 69 y.1 m. 26 d. In his youth he united with the Old Order Amish Mennonite Church, later transferring his membership to the Lower Deer Creek congregation, where he was a faithful member until death. Five daughters and 2 sons were born to this union (Edna-Mrs. Clarence Swartzendruber, Kalona; Magdalene-Mrs. Alvin Stoltzfus, Wellman; Ollie-Mrs. H. C. Page, Midland, Mich.; Leo R., Archbold, Ohio; Willard R., Kalona; Edith-Mrs. Darrel Wade, Keota, Iowa; and Mabel, who preceded him in death. In addition to his wife and children, there also survived 3 brothers (Steve, Lew, and Frank, all of Kalona), one sister (Mrs. Lena Yoder, Kalona), and 23 grandchildren. One brother and one sister preceded him in death. Bro. Yoder enjoyed usual health, having just visited a daughter Ollie in Michigan, and while visiting his son Leo he suffered a stroke and passed away the following morning.
