Leonard Smith of the Mamrelund Lutheran Church at Stanton officiating. Burial was in the Villisca Cemetery. Cecil Weaver sang, accompanied at the piano by Martin Hentsch. Pall bearers were Glen Robe, Sam Dyke, Tom Dyke, Floyd Davis, Ralph McCoy, and Ben Greenfield. Mrs. Floyd Davis and Mrs. Leslie Greenfield served on the floral committee. The deceased was born at Knoxville, Illinois, November 9, 1877, the son of Thomas H. and Sarah Amanda Painter Beavers. He was 71 years old at the time of his death at Clarinda on Wednesday, June 8, 1949. Death was attributed to pneumonia. He came to Iowa with his parents at the age of two and had farmed in the vicinity south of Villisca until he retired in 1930 and moved to Villisca. He was united in marriage September 7, 1910 to Miss Mabel Clarinda Higgins of Villisca, who preceded him in death November 8, 1929. Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Esther Roberts of Sun Valley, California; Mrs. Leta Greenfield, Villisca, Iowa; Mrs. Marjorie Howard, Atlantic; Mrs. Irene Stackhouse, Villisca; Mrs. Ardith Earl, Van Nuys, California, and 12 grandchildren. Two sisters and two brothers who survive him are Mrs. Alta Whitney, Clarinda, Miss Emma Beavers, Hepburn; and Estel and Walter Leaves, Hepburn.
