Read More	ENDS HER LIFE BY HANGING Mrs. Joe Beavers Commits Suicide at Her Farm Home Four Miles South of Villisca BODY FOUND BY HER HUSBAND On His Return Home from Villisca He Discovers His Wife Hanging by Rope in Hog House Mrs. Joseph E. Beavers, 45, need her life by hanging some time on Friday at her farm home four miles south of Villisca. None of the member of her family were home at the time and she was not found until shortly after 5 o’clock when her husband arrived hoe from Villisca and discovered her hanging in the hog house fifteen rods from the residence. Mr. Beavers left home about 9:30 o’clock Friday morning, coming to Villisca to have repair work done on one of his farm equipment and being delay in the work done, he remained until late in the afternoon. Al the Beavers children were in school, Esther, Leta, and Marjorie attending high school in Villisca and Ardith the rural school near the Beavers home. When Mr. Beavers and his three daughters attending school in Villisca arrived home they found the fire in the kitchen range had gone out and finding the wife and mother not in the house, they suspicioned that something was wrong. About that time a neighbor called Mr. Beavers by telephone telling him his two younger children could not find their mother upon their arrival home from school and that they were at the neighbor’s home. Mr. Beavers at once began a search for his wife, looking through all the farm buildings without success until he came to the hog house, the last building to be searched and there he found Mrs. Beavers dead, hanging by a rope. She used a small clothesline with which to end her life. Mr. Beavers called L. D. Walker of Clarinda, coroner of Page County, who came at once and made an investigation. He considered it unnecessary to hold an inquest, it being a plain case of suicide. The body was cold when taken down, except for a little warmth in the region of the heart, and Coroner Walker estimated that Mrs. Beavers must have died about noon or a short time before. Mrs. Beavers had been in poor health of late and had worried considerably and the effects of the two ailments, it is believed caused her to take her own life. She had given no indication to the members of her family that she intended to kill herself, her husband stated following her death. Mrs. Beavers, who was Mabel Clara Higgins before her marriage was born February 28, 1884 and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Washington Higgins, now deceased. She was graduated from the Villisca High School with the class of 1902, and following her graduation she taught eight years in the public schools of Montgomery and Page counties. She was married to Joseph E. Beavers on September 7, 1910 and all their married life has been spent in the vicinity of their present home. Besides her husband and five daughters, Mrs. Beavers leaves four brothers and one sister. They are Asa and William Higgins of Villisca, Chas. Higgins of Creston, Mrs. Geo. Neely of Atlantic, and Jas. Higgins of Maitland, Missouri. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock in the Methodist Church in Villisca with Rev. Geo. A. Lawton in charge of the service. The singing was by H. C. Lindell, Albert F. Davie, and Misses Margaret Lindell and Sylvia Enarson, with Mrs. Erma Edwards at the piano and the pall bearers were Roy Younken, Ben Greenfield, Frank White, John White, Frank Robinson, and W. A.
