MCCLURE Joseph Ensign McClure was born at Cornville, Sumerset Co., Maine, June 21, 1852, and died at St. Joseph's hospital in Omaha June 8, 1920, where he had been taken for treatment for pemphigus, in hopes that a specialist might be able to cure him. His age was 67 years. With his parents he came to Pawnee county in 1867, where he had lived on a farm, living a single life and taking care of his parents while they lived. Since their death, his sister, being a widow, has kept a home for him. he was a good honest neighbor and friend to all, never very strong, but patient and uncomplaining to the last, although his illness for the past three months was very trying. He was a christian man at heart, although never making an open confession, He was called "uncle" by many. He leaves to mourn, a brother, two sisters and their children. Funeral services were held at the Pleasant Valley United Brethren church Friday morning and his body laid to rest beside his mother and father at the near-by cemetery.
