Read More	THE PAWNEE CHIEF, VOLUME XLIV DuBois Blacksmith Found Dead at Home Joseph Fritch Took Own Life at Home East of DuBois Tuesday Afternoon Joseph Fritch, a life-long resident of the DuBois community was found dead at his home east of town Tuesday afternoon. Mr. Fritch, who conducted a blacksmith shop at his farm, had not been in the best of health. Friends said he worried constantly about his increasing amount of work. The body was discovered by Clifford Boehmer, DuBois farmer, who went to the Fritch home about two o'clock for implement repairs. He found the shop locked, but a sign on the residence door stated, "At home, come in." Through the window Mr. Boehmer saw someone lying on the floor, and summoned a neighbor, Edmund Yoble. The men called Sheriff Donahue, who went immediately to the scene to find Mr. Fritch the victim of suicide. A .22 caliber pistol had been used, the bullet passing through his head. He had been dead about two hours, it is thought. Mr. Fritch was an honest, conscientious workman, and will be missed in the DuBois community. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Clyde Larimore of North Platte, Nebr., a brother, Frank, of Pawnee City, and another brother in Colorado.
