The Manchester Press - Thursday April 19, 1956 Joseph Samuel Tinkey was born on a farm near Delhi Sept. 19, 1876, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Tinkey. He passed away at Cedar Falls April 14 at the age of 79. He grew up in the vicinity of Delhi and Earlville and attended the country schools of that area. For the greater part of his adult life he farmed on several different places around Greeley and Edgewood. In a wedding ceremony in Delaware county, Joseph Tinkey was married to Ruth Lillibridge in 1919. Three children survive to mourn his passing; Mrs. Gene (Jean) Reugnitz of Elkport, Newell Tinkey of Cedar Falls, and Mrs. Carl (Esther) Burbridge of Greeley. Also surviving are a brother, George Tinkey of Charlotte, Mich; three grandchildren, Craig Reugnitz of Elkport, Mrs. Burdette Joslyn of Manchester, and Jane Burbridge of Greeley, and a great-grandchild, Deborah Joslyn. Mr. Tinkey's wife and parents preceded him in death; also the following brothers, Charles, Clive, Irving, and William; sisters, Mrs. Lyde Helms, and Mrs. Gertrude Theel, and Stella Tinkey. Funeral services were Monday at 2 P.M. at Rhines Funeral home, Rev. Lawrence Marshburn officiated. Glen Fobes sang, accompanied by Miss Jennie Forward. Burial was made in the Edgewood cemetery.
