Description	:	Joshua Farrar Dead……Joshua Kinwerthey Farrar was born in Steelville, Mo., May 1841, and died at his home in this city March 3, 1923, age 82 years, from parents who came from England and settled, he grew to manhood in the town where he was born. Read More	Joshua Farrar Dead……Joshua Kinwerthey Farrar was born in Steelville, Mo., May 1841, and died at his home in this city March 3, 1923, age 82 years, from parents who came from England and settled, he grew to manhood in the town where he was born. In 1861, when the civil war came, he was one of the first to inlist and served four years in Co. D, Phelps Regiment, Mo. volunteers. At the age of 23 he was converted and joined the Presbyterian church, and had always remained a devout Christian, always in regular attendance until the last few years, which his declining years prevented. In 1865 he was married to Emily Brickey, who died years later. To this union were born five children, two of whom are still living. On the 8th day of March 1877, he was married to Louisa Elizabeth Duncan, and to this union were born thirteen children, nine of whom survive him. On October 17, 1900, this wife and mother passed on to the better world. On July 2, 1903, he was married again to Sarah Melissa Smith, who survives him. He is also survived by eleven children, fifty one grand children, sixteen great grand children, and five step children. Mr. Farrar, or "Uncle Josh" as he was known to almost everyone, had lived in and near Mountain View for the last 40 years and was one of our most prominent early citizens, being known and held in high esteem by nearly everyone for miles around. Rev. Gulley of this city preached the funeral, which was held at Pleasant Grove, and the remains were interred in that cemetery Monday afternoon. The Standard extends the sympathy of the community to the bereaved ones, in their loss. ________________ Joshua Kinworthy FARRAR had a first wife: Emily Arminta BRICKEY 1845 - 1874 d/o John N. BRICKEY & Mary Ann "Polly" WEBB. Joshua & Emily married 2 October 1862 in Crawford Co., MO. I know exactly where Emily is buried, but do not know how to find the exact site. She is buried in Crawford County, MO in or around Steelville on the Farm that Joshua K. FARRAR owned prior to relocating to Howell County, Mo. There is a small Cemetery on his old farm with maybe half a dozen graves. Emily was the mother of: Alice Frances FARRAR DUNCAN (9168707) John Curtis FARRAR (37480453) James FARRAR 1870 - bef. 1879 - he is also likely buried in Joshua K. FARRAR Cemetery located on his old Crawford Co. Farm. 2 unnamed infants whose gender unknown and are also likely buried with their mother Emily BRICKEY FARRAR. Joshua's marriage to 2nd wife Louisa Elizabeth DUNCAN occurred 8 March 1877. Louisa was the mother of all his remaining children. He had no children with 3rd wife Sarah Melissa GILL SMITH FARRAR.
