Julia Feeney was born in Galway County, Ireland, December 10th, 1837. She was married to Michael Ford, August 31, 1853 and moved to America with her young husband the same year. Read More	Died - At her home near Letcher, South Dakota, of pneumonia, Julia Feeney Ford, wife of Michael Ford, Sr., aged 66 years, 3 months and 28 days. Julia Feeney was born in Galway County, Ireland, December 10th, 1837. She was married to Michael Ford, August 31, 1853 and moved to America with her young husband the same year. They first settled in the state of New York for a short period and have lived in Ohio, Wisconsin and Iowa. She came to the Territory of Dakota in the spring of 1883 and settled near Letcher, where she has since resided. Mrs. Ford was taken sick Monday April 4th and in spite of medical attention and careful .... continued to grow worse until Friday April 8th at 11:30a.m. when she quietly passed away. She had been a member of the Catholic church from her childhood and had always been faithful, conscientious and devoted. She received the sacred rites of the church from her pastor and the soul passed away to Him who gave it. The funeral services were held in the Catholic church and officiated by Rev. J. Siblate(?). The funeral being among the largest ever held in Letcher. After the funeral mass the pastor spoke .... tones of the aged mother, the consecrated Christian and impressed on his hearers the importance of a preparation for death. The remains were laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery west of town. Mrs. Ford leaves an aged consort, Michael Ford, Sr., seven sons and one daughter to mourn her loss. She was the mother of twelve children, of which four (two sons and two daughters) had passed away. There were eight children living, Michael, Thomas, William, Daniel, Martin, Edward, John and a daughter, Mrs. Nellie Stevens. Upon her son, Daniel, the blow falls heavily as he had buried his wife only Wednesday, April 6th. To the bereaved family the sympathy of friends and neighbors is extended.
