Julia Johnson Anderson Julia was born 6-FEB-1846, in Smoland, Sweden, daughter of John and Nettie Lawson Johnson, and came to this country in 1882, moving to Oskaloosa, where she was married to Soloman Anderson 5-NOV-1886. To this union nine children were born. Mrs. Julia Anderson, 81, oldest Ottumwa Gold Star mother and a resident of this city for the past 24 years, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. R.C. Larson, 124 North Willard Street, Friday night. Her residence was at 2615 East Main Street. She was born February 6, 1864, in Smoland, Sweden, and came to this country in 1882, moving to Oskaloosa, where she was married to Sol Anderson in 1886. She was a member of the Willard Street Methodist Church and of the American Legion auxiliary. Surviving are four sons, Elmer Anderson, Hiteman; Joe Anderson, Ft. Madison; Herman Anderson, Knoxville, and Clarence Anderson, St. Clair, Mich., and four daughters, Mrs. Ed Peterson, East Moline, Ill.; Mrs. R.C. Larson, Ottumwa; Mrs. Carl Lindberg, Ottumwa, and Mrs. George Cavanaugh, Ottumwa. Twenty-eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Anna Flockman of Chicago, also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1936 and one son, Arthur Anderson in 1918. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the home, 124 North Willard street, and at 2 p.m. at the Willard Street Methodist church in charge of the Rev. C.R. Reed. Burial will be made in Ottumwa cemetery. The casket will remain at the Johnson funeral chapel until Monday morning, when it will be taken to the home. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. DEC. 7, 1945
