Mass of the Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, at Holy Spirit Church in Carroll. Celebrant will be Father Mervin Hood. Burial will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Carroll. Lector for the Mass will be Richard Benton. Gift bearers will be Gina Bauck, Jennifer Venteicher and Melissa Kessenick. Casket bearers will be Jeff Venteicher, Ralph Venteicher, Scott Bauck, Vincent Schwenk, Steve Middendorf and Doug Middendorf. Visitation will begin at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll. Rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. Friday by the Legion of Mary and there will be a Christian wake service at 7:30 p.m. Friday by Holy Spirit Parish. Born May 5, 1899, at Templeton, Iowa, she was a daughter of John and Elizabeth (Macke) Vollmer. She spent her younger years in the Templeton and Carroll communities and attended Sacred Heart Schools in Templeton and the Carroll Schools. On June 6, 1921, she was married to Joseph B. Micka at St. Joseph Church in Carroll by Monsignor Stephen Butler. Following their marriage, the couple lived in Carroll until 1929, when they moved to Virginia, Minn., where they owned and operated a General Electric Appliance Store. They retired in 1960 and returned to Carroll to make their home. The couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1971. Mrs. Micka was a member of Holy Spirit Parish in Carroll, the Parish Ladies Guild and the Legion of Mary. Mrs. Micka is survived by a daughter, Gladys Benton and her husband, Richard, of Raleigh, N.C.; two grandchildren, Stephen Benton of Minneapolis, Minn., and Mary Benton of Pittsburgh, Pa.; two great grandchildren, Anthony and Nathaniel Benton of Minneapolis; one sister, Loretta Anneberg of Carroll; and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews, including Barbara Venteicher and her husband, Ralph, of Carroll. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, in 1984; a son, John; a daughter, Maxine; three sisters, Ellen Schwenk, Mabel Reilly and Leola Carpenter; and a brother, in infancy.
