Micka of Virginia, Minn., underwent an operation for tumor of the brain at Mercy hospital, Des Moines, Tuesday morning. Maxine is a granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs John Vollmer of Carroll. Oct 10, 1936 - Carroll Daily - Funeral services for Maxine Micka, 6-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.B. Micka of Virginia, Minn., who died Thursday morning were held at 9 o'clock Saturday morning at St. Joseph's church, with Very Rev. P.T. Lynch officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph's cemetery. Four small girls, Ellen Goreham, Ethel Boyce, Alice Duncan and Harriet Hillmer, were pallbearers. Out of town relatives at the services included Mr. and Mrs. Mike Macke and family of Templeton, Edwin Vollmer, of Sioux City, Mr. and Mrs. C.F. Reilly and family of Charter Oak, Mrs. Anna Hoover, Mrs. Harold Hunter, Julius Rowetter, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Vollmer and Mrs. Labert Stahl, all of Manning. Maxine was born at Hibbing, Minn., Dec. 10, 1929. She is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Micka, one sister, Gladys, and her grandparents, Mr. and. Mrs. John Vollmer besides a number of aunts and uncles
