Description	:	Mr. Jurgen Petersen, who recently moved to town from the farm near Denison, dropped dead Monday morning about seven o'clock at his home on east Tremont street, the cause being heart failure. Mr. Petersen was one of the pioneer successful farmers of Crawford County, and had many friends who regret his death. He was sixty-two years, ten months and twenty-eight days old. Mr. Petersen was one of the pioneer successful farmers of Crawford County, and had many friends who regret his death. He was sixty-two years, ten months and twenty-eight days old. Jurgen Peter Petersen was born June 10, 1853, in Starrum, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. He came to America in 1870, settling first in Clinton county. Seven years later he moved to Crawford County and has farmed in this county ever since. The past eight years his home has been in Hanover township, and he moved to Denison early this spring to enjoy life of retirement from active work, which was so suddenly cut off. Mr. Petersen was married July 18, 1877, to Miss Adeline Lorenzen. To this union were born eleven children, four of whom are dead. The children who are left with the stricken wife to mourn the sad loss are Asmus, Peter, Chris, August, Emil, Amelia and Marie. The girls are still at home, and the boys are all farming in Hanover and Goodrich townships. Two brothers and two sisters also mourn him, Asmus, in Minnesota, and Carl, who is in the US Navy, Mrs. Alma Olsen of Wall Lake and Mrs. Marie Brenner, in Russia. Other relatives and countless friends also feel keenly the loss of Mr. Petersen. The funeral services will be held tomorrow, Thursday, at 12:30 at the home and at 1:00 o'clock at the Lutheran church, and interment will be made in Hanover township cemetery. The Bulletin joins in sympathy to the bereaved ones.
