Description	:	MARION, Va. Karen Harris Milam age 67, passed away on Monday, September 15, 2014, at the Francis Marion Manor in Marion, Va. She was born in Washington, D.C., to the late Edmund and Helen Farmer Harris. Karen was the oldest of four siblings, and first of the four to graduate from Wheaton High School. She worked full time after graduating and married at age 20. After having her two children, Dawn and Eric, she enrolled in Montgomery College and earned an Associate's degree for her RN. Karen Harris Milam age 67, passed away on Monday, September 15, 2014, at the Francis Marion Manor in Marion, Va. She was born in Washington, D.C., to the late Edmund and Helen Farmer Harris. Karen was the oldest of four siblings, and first of the four to graduate from Wheaton High School. She worked full time after graduating and married at age 20. After having her two children, Dawn and Eric, she enrolled in Montgomery College and earned an Associate's degree for her RN. She worked at nursing in Maryland before eventually moving to Pennsylvania to become a nurse at York County Prison. She purchased a home in York and worked at the prison until her retirement in 2008. After retiring, she moved to Marion to be close to her mother's side of the family. Survivors include children, Eric Deckman, York, Pa., and Dawn Ensor, Palmyra, Pa.; grandchildren, Mackenzie, Nolan, and Wade Deckman, Tony Posada, Brandon and Megan Hodges, and Brianna Ensor; brothers, Donald Harris, Hawthorne, Calif., and Kevin Harris, Marion, Va.; sister, Pamela Driscoll, Bowman, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Graveside funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 20, 2014, at the Haw Orchard Cemetery in Grayson County, Va., with Pastor Mike Sage officiating. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.bradleysfh.com. Bradley's Funeral Home of Marion, is serving the Milam Family.
