Description	:	Kari Larsdatter Rudningen Domier was born September 5, 1833 in Aal, Hallingdal, Buskerud County, Norway. She was the ninth born of twelve children of Lars Knutson Rudningen and Borghild Knutsdatter Torsteinrud. The family lived on the small Rudningen farm, which was part of a larger farm called Trinterud. At some point Kari went to live near Oslo, perhaps because her sister Liv and husband Lars Embrikson Springgard, had an iron foundry in Oslo. The family lived on the small Rudningen farm, which was part of a larger farm called Trinterud. At some point Kari went to live near Oslo, perhaps because her sister Liv and husband Lars Embrikson Springgard, had an iron foundry in Oslo. Kari married Johann Heinrich Domeyer (Henrick Domier), a German, age 26 from Fossum, on August 1, 1858 at the Asker Church near Oslo. Kari and Henrick's first four children were born in Norway, Henrik William born in 1859, Carl Johan born in 1861, Louise Borgine born in 1864 and Olaf born in 1866. The family left Norway for America on the ship Fauna and arrived in Quebec, Canada on June 19, 1867. They came directly to Goodhue County, Minnesota near Zumbrota, where Kari's brother, Ole Larson Rudningen (Ronningen in America)and his wife Guri Loken had settled in 1866. Henrick and Kari bought several pieces of land in Roscoe and Minneola Township from 1868 until 1877. They had two children born in Goodhue County, Ludvig born in 1869 and August born in 1872. In 1877 they purchased a farm in High Forest Township in Olmsted County, about 30 miles south of Zumbrota. Their seventh child, Oscar, was born in 1880. In December of 1880, Henrick went to Traill County, North Dakota to look for a homestead. Son William had already gone to North Dakota and filed on a homestead in June of 1880. By March of 1881, Henrick had filed on a homestead and built a house. Kari and the children left Minnesota and came to join Henrick. They remained on their farm until Henrick died in 1902, then their son bought the farm and Kari remained living with them until her death on August 5, 1911. She died at the age of 77 and was buried by her husband in the Bruflat Cemetery in Traill County, North Dakota. Note: Kari's children are: William Domier, John Domier, Louisa Haagenson, Olaf Domire (Montana), Ludvig Domier, August Domier and Oscar Domier.
