Description	:	LAUENSTEIN, KATHERINA CHARLOTTE ANNA KATIE--Katherina Charlotte Anna Lauenstein was born to Elizabeth (nee Meyer) and Fred Witte, December 13, 1886, at Alma, Mo. She was baptized as an infant and after proper instructions in the Word of God was received as a communicant member, of St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran church of Geneva, Neb. Read More	LAUENSTEIN, KATHERINA CHARLOTTE ANNA KATIE--Katherina Charlotte Anna Lauenstein was born to Elizabeth (nee Meyer) and Fred Witte, December 13, 1886, at Alma, Mo. She was baptized as an infant and after proper instructions in the Word of God was received as a communicant member, of St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran church of Geneva, Neb. She was united in marriage in St. Paul’s church to Fred W. Lauenstein November 14, 1912. This union was blessed with three children, Melvin, Verda Mietzner and Vernon. Her son Melvin preceded her in death September 23, 1935. All of her wedded life was spent in farming with her husband, who preceded her in death February 15, 1940. In November, 1951, she moved into Geneva and made her home here until her death. She passed away at the Fillmore County hospital after a lingering illness at 8:45 o’clock Sunday evening, June 18, 1967, at the age of 78 years, 6 months and 5 days. She leaves to mourn her departure, a daughter, Verda Mietzner, a son, Vernon; daughter-in-law Jean; and son-in-law Gerald Mietzner; sisters, Mrs. Hulda Pearson and husband Frank; Mrs. Marvel Bohlen and husband Will, Mabel Witte and Edna Witte; brothers, Edwin Witte and George Witte, and his wife Hazel; granddaughters and grandsons, three great-grandchildren, brothers-in-law, William Lauenstein, Ed Lauenstein and William Baumann; nieces and nephews and numerous other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the Grace Evangelical Lutheran church in Geneva at 2 p. m. Wednesday, June 21. Rev. David A. Fischer officiated. Helen Riel and LaVerna Everts sang “What a Friend We Have in Jesus” and “Rock of Ages.” Miss Everts was accompanist. Pallbearers were C. H. Biester, George A. Bordner, John Burt, August Dockter, Cecil Richards and George Schropfer. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery. The Nebraska Signal 29 June 1967 page 9.
