Description	:	Eliza Wilhelmina Meyer, daughter of Henry and Katherine Meyer, was born on the 24th day of March, 1862, in Chapin, Morgan Co., Ill. She passed away at her home south of Grafton Friday evening, February 22, 1936. As a child she moved with her parents to Lafayette County, Missouri. At the age of thirteen she was confirmed in the Lutheran faith, to which she remained faithful until death. February 9, 1888, she was united in marriage to Fred Witte. Read More	Eliza Wilhelmina Meyer, daughter of Henry and Katherine Meyer, was born on the 24th day of March, 1862, in Chapin, Morgan Co., Ill. She passed away at her home south of Grafton Friday evening, February 22, 1936. As a child she moved with her parents to Lafayette County, Missouri. At the age of thirteen she was confirmed in the Lutheran faith, to which she remained faithful until death. February 9, 1888, she was united in marriage to Fred Witte. This union was blessed with nine children, eight of whom are living. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lorna, who passed away January 7, 1917. Early Friday morning Mrs. Witte was stricken with a severe stroke, from which she never rallied. Death came to her peacefully that same evening at 8:45. She leaves to mourn her death her devoted husband, Fred Witte, three sons, Fred, Edwin and George Witte of Grafton, five daughters, Mrs. Katie Lauenstein of Geneva, Mrs. Hulda, Pearson, Mrs. Marvel Bohlen, Mable and Edna Witte, all of Grafton; eight grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Anna Limback of Higginsville, Mo.; one brother, Henry Meyer, who has made his home with her for the past ten years. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, February 26, 1935, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Rev. G. Mueller conducted the service. Music and singing were furnished by Mrs. W. A. Krenke, Mrs. Ernest Frenzen and Mrs. Ernest Lentfer. Interment was in the Grafton Cemetery. The Nebraska Signal 1935
