Description	:	Marvel Witte Bohlen was born March 21, 1900, to Fred and Elizabeth Witte. She passed away on March 2, 1996, at the Fillmore County Hospital at the age of 95 years. Marvel attended a one room school in Fillmore County. She was confirmed in the Lutheran faith at St. Paul's south of Grafton. She passed away on March 2, 1996, at the Fillmore County Hospital at the age of 95 years. Marvel attended a one room school in Fillmore County. She was confirmed in the Lutheran faith at St. Paul's south of Grafton. Marvel was united in marriage to William Bohlen and to this union were born two daughters, Margaret (Dale) White of Edgar, and Elaine (Bill) McCullough of Wichita, Kan. The family resided on the farm south of Grafton. For many years she was secretary of Branch 1398 AAL insurance. When St. Paul's Lutheran Church closed in 1956, they transferred their membership to Zion Lutheran Church in Shickley. She was a member of Zion Ladies Aid. Her husband preceded her in death on March 3, 1980. Marvel moved from the farm in 1988, to an apartment in Geneva. Due to failing health, she moved to Heritage in 1992. Survivors include her daughters and their husbands; a granddaughter, Debra (Jesse) Mason; a grandson, Dennis White; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Edna Witte; nieces and a nephew, many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted from the Zion Lutheran Church in Shickley on Tuesday March 5, with Pastor Duane Simonson officiating. Stanley Johnson accompanied the congregation who sang "Nearer My God to Thee" and "How Great Thou Art." Casket bearers were Robert D. Galusha, Aaron Griess, Dan Lauenstein, Doug Nuss, Greg Nuss and Jery Otte. Interment was in the Grafton Public Cemetery. The Nebraska Signal March 13th, 1996 page 20.
