Read More	Glasco Sun, October 19, 1961, page 1: Final Rites Held For Maxine Pilcher Kathryn Maxine Pilcher, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Pilcher, was born march 20, 1921, at Delphos, Kansas. When she was eleven days old, the family moved to Glasco, where she made her home since. Maxine attended Grade School and High School in Glasco, graduating from high school in 1939. She taught two years in country schools. She has been City Clerk of Glasco the past 17 years, serving in this capacity at the time of her death. She was a member of the Methodist Church, VFW Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, Rebekah Lodge and Past Noble Grand. She was also leader of Girl Scouts for several years. In taking an active part in all of these organizations, she met and made many friends. Maxine passed away October 13, 1961. She leaves her father, Ray, her mother, Kathryn, and a nephew, Terry Lee of the home. Also a sister, Betty, Mrs. Jack Heiser and husband of St. Louis, Mo., and a host of relatives and friends who will greatly miss her. Funeral services were held from the Methodist Church, Glasco, Kansas, Monday, October 16, 1961, at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. John Baker officiating. Music was by Ronald King, soloist, and Mrs. Nadine Teasley, organist. Pallbearers were Olin Stortz, Myron Hargadine, David Pritchett, Jim Holmes, Wilbur Nowels, and LeRoy Wolf. Flower ladies were Mrs. Earl Teasley and Mrs. Maxine Phelps. Interment was in Glasco cemetery with Dean Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
