Va.): SCHLEY - Kenneth Brown Smith, 85, died on Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2010, in Riverside Walter Reed Hospital. He was born in Schley and was the son of the late Peter W. and Annie Brown Smith. He was an accountant with J.C. Brown Oil Co. in Ware Neck and a member of Singleton United Methodist Church in Schley. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was in the Battle of the Bulge. His family was his life. He was a man of boundless love and his heart wasn't big enough for all of his love. He is survived by his wife, Jean D. Smith; his daughters, Debbie Zanca (Cris), Karen Soles (Blair), Connie Field (Stephen), and Kathy Tidwell (Ed); his brother, Graham Smith; his grandchildren, Kara (Phil), Cristen (Nick), Nick (Crystal), Tony (Mary), Steve (Ashley), Lauren, Allyson, Logan, and Sheridan; and his great-grandchildren, Jocelyn, Madison, Kenneth, Smith, and Devon. The family will receive friends at Andrews Funeral Home on Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010, at 11 a.m. in Singleton United Methodist Church by the Rev. Calvin Griffin. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will be at the home of Karen and Blair Soles. Andrews Funeral Home, Gloucester, Va. is in charge of arrangements.
