He... Read More	Stratford Courier September 2, 1909 L.W. Naslund Called Home Like a thunderbolt from a clear sky came the announcement of the death of L.W. Naslund Thursday afternoon about 1 o'clock. Although it was known that he was quite seriously sick it was not believed that the end would come so soon. For some time Mr. Naslund had complained of not feeling well and less than two weeks before his death he was able to be up and around, although his strength was gradually failing, but he soon became bedfast and his case was pronounced as typhoid fever. He was given the best of medical attention and all that loving hands could do was done, but on Wednesday evening he was taken with a hemorrhage and passed away peacefully Thursday afternoon. A number of years ago deceased went through a hard siege of pneumonia and for several days his life hung in the balance and since that time he never regained his former strength. "Will" as he was known to everybody, was held in the highest esteem by the people of Stratford and vicinity. His kind disposition and gentle ways won for him friends by the score and during the time he was engaged in the business of drayman his entire interest was devoted to the special benefit of his customers. He was a devoted husband and a kind and indulgent father; to his sisters and brothers a tender brother; to his parents a dutiful son, to his friends the soul of fellowship. His devotion to his wife and family and kindness to everybody will long linger as a fragrant memory in the home which his presence brightened and which death has now darkened. Lars Wilhelm Naslund was born in Hardin Township, Webster County, June 22, 1874 and died Thursday, Aug. 26, 1909 at the age of 35 years, 2 months and 4 days. He was united in marriage to Grace Fisher, October 5, 1904, to which union two daughters were born. Besides a loving wife and two daughters he leaves to mourn his demise his parents, three brothers and two sisters. The funeral services were held at the residence Sunday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock, Rev. C.G. Bengtson officiating and paying a beautiful tribute in the memory of the deceased. At the close of the solemn services all were permitted to look for the last time upon the face of the departed., the the sad cortege moved on to the Oakwood cemetery, where the remains were laid to rest.
