Mrs. Evans had been an active, energetic woman all her life, a fine neighbor, always ready and eager to lend aid and assistance in times of trouble and distress, and she had had a host of warm friends who held... She was 82 years of age. She was the daughter of the late Charles W. and Nancy Nelson Goldsborough, and the wife of Alonzo Evans. Mrs. Evans had been an active, energetic woman all her life, a fine neighbor, always ready and eager to lend aid and assistance in times of trouble and distress, and she had had a host of warm friends who held her in affection for the many fine qualities she possessed and displayed. She was a member of Asbury Methodist Church, and during her long life had been interested in community affairs and in church work. Funeral services were held on Tuesday in the Hinman Funeral Home here, conducted by the Rev. Guy Saunders, pastor of the First Baptist Church. Burial was in the Nelson Family Cemetery. Surviving her are her husband, Alonzo Evans, a daughter, Mrs. Louis Myers of Salisbury, a son Nelson Evans of Crisfield, two sisters, Mrs. Mayme Powell of Salisbury and Mrs. Audrey Rayfield of Crisfield, a brother, Charles W. Goldsborough of Crisfield, and eight grandchildren. The Crisfield Times, Crisfield, Maryland, Friday, January 29, 1960, p. 8 Laura Goldsborough, 18, married Alexander L. Davis, 21, on 7 Mar 1895 in Somerset County, MD. Rena Goldsborough was born 18 Feb 1877, the daughter of C.W. and N.M. Goldsborough.
