He received his education in Hubbell public schools. He was united in marriage to Mary D. E. Verley on April 10, 1924, and to this union four children were born. He lived most of his life in Hubbell. He received his education in Hubbell public schools. He was united in marriage to Mary D. E. Verley on April 10, 1924, and to this union four children were born. He lived most of his life in Hubbell. He was employed by the Thayer County, Nebr. Highway Department for several years later by Mannschreck Lumber and Hardware, Hubbell. He was a member of the Presbyterian church. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two brothers. He is survived by his wife of the home; four children, Mrs. Clayton (Mary Lee) Berggren, Mrs. Dale (Juanita) Compton both of Manhattan; John of York Nebr.; Mrs. Harlan (Helen Marie) Schardt of Hebron; 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; five brothers, Albert Young, Belleville, Fred W. Young, Jess Young, both of Hubbell; Floyd Ray Young of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Milton Young of Hebron; one sister, Mrs. Julius (Rosa) Gausman of Chester; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held August 23 at the United Methodist church of Hubbell, conducted by Rev. Jean Samuelson. Interment was in Hubbell cemetery. Contributor: jln (48112406)
