Gouley, 72, died at 10:30 p.m. Friday here at the home of Mrs. Mary Poston on Fifth Avenue where he has been cared for since suffering a stroke of paralysis a few days before his death. His body was taken to the Wolfe & Gourley Funeal Parlors to await the funeral services. The funeral was held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the funeral parlors with the Rev. Nordyke as the accompanist. Pall bearers were Lars O. Larson, Joe Atwood, W. V. McCracken, George and Ed Johnso, and Lester Govig. Interment was made in the Villisca Cemetery. Lehman C. Gourley, son of Thomas and Hester Ann Gourley was born February 22, 1861 in Montgomery County, Iowa. He was united in marriage September 21, 1882 to Ellen Oyster. Six children were born to this union. They are Mrs. Cora Pace, Villisca, Mrs. Glenna Caster, Ellenburg, Washington; Mrs. Jennie Damuth, Logan, Montana; Manford Gourley, Topeka, Kansas; Wilbur Gourley, St. Louis, Missouri, and Samuel who died in infancy.. Besides his children, Mr. Gourley is survived by four brothers and two sisters, Mrs. Kate Bunker, Mound City, Missouri; Mrs. Elmer Hyde, Red Oak; Fletcher Gourley, Morton Mills; Dave Gourley, Rushville, Nebraska; and John and Bob Gourley of Villisca. One brother and two sisters preceded him in death. Mr. Gouley is also survived by the five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. His wife preceded him in death March 26, 1921.
