Description	:	Following a short illness, Leland "Joe" Nordman died during surgery at McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD, on Tuesday afternoon, Apr. 16, 1996, the result of lung cancer. He attained the age of 53 years, one month and one day. Read More	Following a short illness, Leland "Joe" Nordman died during surgery at McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD, on Tuesday afternoon, Apr. 16, 1996, the result of lung cancer. He attained the age of 53 years, one month and one day. Leland Virgil "Joe" Nordman was born on a farm two and one-half miles east of Lennox, SD, on Mar. 15, 1943, the son of Harm and Pauline (Ysbrand) Nordmann. He attended rural school while living on farms near Lennox. Following the death of his father in 1951, he moved into Lennox with his mother and family. He attended Lennox High School, being a member of the class of 1962. Mr. Nordman lived in Lennox and was employed at Cargill, Inc. for 20 years. in 1984, he moved to Sioux Falls, where he had since lived. In recent years, he made his home with his sister, Rose. He was preceded in death by his father on Oct. 9, 1951; and infant sister, Geraldine, in 1933; a brother, Ronald Nordman, on Nov. 14, 1992; and his mother, Polly Freese, just one month ago, on Mar. 16, 1996. He is survived by two sons: Michael Nordman of Sioux Falls and Jeff Nordman of Tea; two daughters: Dory Nordman and Crystal Neuman, both of Sioux Falls; six grandchildren; one sister Rose Miller, of Sioux Falls; three brothers: Kenneth Nordman of Lennox, Harley Nordmann of Chancellor, and Roger Nordman of Sioux Falls.
