Read More	Dec 12, 1952 LIFE-LONG RESIDENT OF COUNTY DIES Mrs. Lena Koch Passes away at home Tuesday. Mrs. Lena Koch, 86, lifelong resident of Custer County, died suddenly at her home near Hillside Tuesday night. Death was attributed to advanced age and a heart ailment. She was apparently in good health, and her death came as a shock to her family and friends. Born in Chicago, Illinois, she came here with her parents when she was a small child, and had made her home on a ranch near Hillside since that time, with the exception of a brief period spent in Canon City. She is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Mollie Berry of Hillside, Mrs. Lucy Shea, of Saskatchewan, Canada, Mrs. Lena Evans, of Los Angeles, California, Mrs. Annie Caughman and Mrs Hattie Bowman, of Salida: and four sons, William, Louis H., Fred and Helmuth G. all of whom reside in Custer county. Funeral arrangements, with the Menzel Funeral Home in charge, had not been completed Wednesday. Dec. 26, 1952 Pallbearers at the funeral of Mrs. Lena Koch were Raymond Koch, Charles Koch, James P. Berry, Leslie Caughman, Floyd Wilson and John Y. Koch. Funeral Services Held Here Monday for Mrs. Lena Koch December 19, 1952 Funeral services were held Monday morning at the Community Church for Mrs. Lena Koch with Rev. I Melville Wohrley conducting. Mrs. Koch passed away last Tuesday night at her home near Hillside. She came to Custer county in 1870 with her parents, the late Mr and Mrs. William Knuth. She was married to Peter Koch on August 10, 1880, her husband preceding her in death February 12, 1940. In addition to her five daughters and four sons, she is survived by 20 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Amelie Eikelman, of Westcliffe, and Mrs. Ida Perkins of Los Angeles, California. Interment was in Ula cemetery, with the Menzel Funeral Home in charge.
