She was born on September 22, 1920 in Springfield to Allie (Callison) and George Hoss. A lifetime Springfield resident, she was a graduate of Springfield High School and worked for the Hugo Bosca Company for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Howard L. She was born on September 22, 1920 in Springfield to Allie (Callison) and George Hoss. A lifetime Springfield resident, she was a graduate of Springfield High School and worked for the Hugo Bosca Company for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Howard L. Brown who passed away in 1992. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Catherine L. and Jeffrey M. Lincourt; two granddaughters, Caitlin and Melissa Lincourt all of Crown Point, Indiana; two sisters, Vera G. Cooke of Springfield and Catherine Tripp of Miami, Florida; a sister-in-law, judith Adams of Glenview, Illinois; a brother-in-law, Robert W. Brown of Lafayette Hill, Pennsylvania; a number of cousins and nieces and nephews, as well as many close friends. In the 1960's, Lois was very active in the Springfield Art Center having been the Recording/Corresponding Secretary for six terms, as well as a member of the Board of Trustees. She was a member of the Forest Hills Garden Club and the American guild of Flower Arrangers and for many years was chairman of the Upper Valley Mall Flower Show as well as being chairman for the Flower Show at the Clark County Fair. She was annually invited to participate in the Master Classes of flower arranger, Bob Thomas, which were held in Florida. Lois was an active member of the Northminster Presbyterian Church and the church's Christmas Bazaar. Her hobbies included painting, sculpting, and flower arranging. Friends may call from 5to 8 p.m. on Friday, January 22, 1999 at the RRICHARDS, RAFF AND DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME and at the Northminster Presbyterian Church from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 23, 1999. A memorial service will be held at 11 o'clock at the church following the visitation with the Rev. Virginia carlisle officiating.
