Obituary from the Glasco Sun, June 5, 1941, page 2: Lorean Burnett, son of Ralph and Mamie Burnett, was born at Glasco on November 16, 1915, and passed away at the St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri, on May 27, 1941, at the age of 25 years, 6 months and 5 days. Lorean joined the Christian Church of Glasco when 9 years of age. He graduated from the Glasco Rural High School with the class of 1935. Lorean, when he was nine years old and attending grade school injured his leg above the knee. In the following period of seven years he underwent four major operations to save his leg and life. The injury finally was healed and his health improved. The joy of living came to him, the joy of work, the happy thought that he could do as others, that no job was too hard or too big. After graduating from high school, Lorean worked for two years in the Cloud County AAA offices. He was united in marriage to Lucile Sparger in 1937.To this union there were no children. After working for a time for Swift & Co., and with the H.D. Lee Company in Salina, he took a position in the drug department at the St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City. While working at the hospital last November he was stricken with a severe case of pneumonia which left him in a weakened condition from which he could not recover. Lorean leaves to mourn him, Lucille, his wife; Mrs. George Nowels, his mother; Mrs. Perry McBane, his sister; four brothers: Ralph, Melvin, Raymond, and Chriss and their families and all who knew him.
