Description	:	Loren was born to John and Bernice (Shelmadine) Pospisil at Winner, SD on September 20, 1943. He grew up on a farm south of Winner near the Keyapaha River. He attended country school, then Colome high school for two years and transferred to Fort Pierre and graduated in 1961. He attended 2 years at SDSU at Brookings, SD where he met and married Susan Konechne in 1963. From this marriage his 4 children were born; Loren Kent Jr., Barbara Marie, Katherine Sue and Sandra Rae. Read More	Loren was born to John and Bernice (Shelmadine) Pospisil at Winner, SD on September 20, 1943. He grew up on a farm south of Winner near the Keyapaha River. He attended country school, then Colome high school for two years and transferred to Fort Pierre and graduated in 1961. He attended 2 years at SDSU at Brookings, SD where he met and married Susan Konechne in 1963. From this marriage his 4 children were born; Loren Kent Jr., Barbara Marie, Katherine Sue and Sandra Rae. Loren worked several jobs throughout his life including road construction, sales at Prairie Distributors (Sanvigs) and Case Power & Equipment. In 1977 he went to work with the State of South Dakota for the Department of Charities and Corrections. A year later he transferred to the Department of Game, Fish & Parks where he worked in purchasing and inventory where he worked until his retirement. Loren was very proud of his job at the Dept of Game, Fish & Parks and held the people he worked with close to his heart. Upon his retirement in 2002 he put all his heart into spending time with his family and woodworking. Loren was proud to be a Bohemian. He liked beer, Nebraska football, John Deere equipment and the weather channel. Through his life he had been a stock car racer, woman's softball coach and a storyteller of many jokes. Also spent time being a Boy Scout and Girl Scout leader. He loved hunting, fishing and gardening; especially tending his rose garden. He loved his children and grandchildren taking an active role in their lives rarely missing one of their school events. He was survived by his son, Loren Pospisil Jr. of Bayard NE and daughters Barbara (Donald) Zimmer of Sturtevant, WI; Katherine Pospisil of Fort Pierre, SD, and Sandra (Larry) Hedman of Canton, SD; nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 48 years, Susan (Konechne) Pospisil, both parents, two brothers a sister. Loren Pospisil, 68 of Ft. Pierre, died Sunday, November 13 at his home in Ft. Pierre. Visitation will be 5-7pm Thursday, November 17 at St. John's Catholic Church with a Prayer Service/Rosary at 7:00 pm. Services will be 10:00 am Friday, November 18 at St. John's Catholic Church with burial at Scotty Philip Cemetery
