LORENA FLETCHER Lorena Geraldine Miser, the oldest daughter of George A. and Sarah Story Miser was born at Annapolis, Ohio, May 8, 1873, and passed away at Manhattan, Kans., June 24, 1954. Her early life was spent in eastern Ohio. She was a member of the Annapolis Presbyterian Church and for many years was organist for the Sunday School. She attended high school at Pawnee City and normal school at Valparaiso, Ind., then for 10 years she taught in the rural schools of Jefferson County, Ohio, and Pawnee County, Nebr. It was while teaching at the Burg school that she met Isaac Zenas Fletcher to who she later was married, Dec 25, 1902. She was preceded in death by her husband who died Feb. 19, 1947. She is survived by four children, Nellie of Greybull, Wyo., Mary of Manhattan, Kans., Alice of Fullerton, Calif., and George of Pawnee City, a daughter-in-law, Gertrude, and three grandchildren, Janice, Marlyce, and Robert. She was one of a family of seven children, three of who survive her, two sisters, Miss Nellie Miser of Manhattan, Kans., and Mrs. George C. Martin of Elyria, Ohio, and one brother, Walter G. Miser of Rapid City, S. Dad. She also leaves numerous nephews and nieces. In 1914 the Fletcher family moved to their present home near Pawnee City. Mrs. Fletcher had her membership transferred to the First Presbyterian Church where she also was a member of the Fulton Bible class for many years. She was much interested in the affairs of her country and always liked to read the daily newspapers. She enjoyed her garden and flowers and during the two years she lived in California with Alice she often wrote to her family and friends about the beautiful flowers there. A fine Christian woman has completed her life work. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends, but her influence will carry on through the lives of those who have known her. Funeral service was held Monday afternoon at the First Presbyterian Church in Pawnee City conducted by the Rev. Lloyd A. Jackson. The following nephews of Mrs. Fletcher were pall bearers: Page Bruch, Fletcher Bruch, Enest Inglis, Will Inglis, Floyd Fletcher and Guy Fletcher. Interment was in the Pawnee City Cemetery.
