Description	:	LORENZ G. EINSPAHR ~ Lorenz George Einspahr, the youngest of 19 children of Peter C. and Auguste (Berndt) Einspahr, was born October 22, 1903, in Wanda Township near Juniata, Nebraska. He was baptized November 29, 1903, at Zion Lutheran Church in Wanda Township. EINSPAHR ~ Lorenz George Einspahr, the youngest of 19 children of Peter C. and Auguste (Berndt) Einspahr, was born October 22, 1903, in Wanda Township near Juniata, Nebraska. He was baptized November 29, 1903, at Zion Lutheran Church in Wanda Township. He gew up on the family farm and received his education in a Lutheran parochial school in both the German and English languages. He was confirmed April 1, 1917. In 1926, Lorenz moved to Colorado to farm some of his father's land in the Flagler community. On June 1, 1927, Lorenz was united in Holy Matrimony with Esther Meyer at Zion Lutheran Church in Flagler. To this union four children were born. The Einspahrs engaged in farming on the "Alexander" place seven miles northwest of Flagler, from 1927 to 1936. The "Dust Bowl Days" and the "Depression" gave Lorenz and Esther the incentive to move elsewhere. They located at Holyoke in the fall of 1936, first residing with the Ervin Einspahrs. In March of 1937, they moved onto the Charles Stiles farm in the Pleasant Valley community. In 1938, they rented the Martin Rodenburg farm about eight miles northwest of Holyoke. In 1973, Lorenz and Esther purchased a home on South Phelan Avenue, and later sold it and bought their home on East Furry Street. Because of failing health, Lorenz became a resident of Prairie Vista Care Center in March of 1991. Lorenz died Thursday, August 15, 1991, having attained the age of 87 years, nine months and 24 days. He was a faithful and dedicated servant of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Funeral services were conducted Monday, August 19, 1991, at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Holyoke, with Rev. Gary Rahe officiating. Serving as organist was Diane Rahe. Soloist David Harp sang "Thy Will Be Done" and "Go Now in Peace." The congregation sang "I Know that My Redeemer Lives." Pallbearers were Lorenz's grandsons Marcus Ruby, Russell Weimer, Manuel Sena, Jr., Allen Einspahr, Gary Carper, Gayln Einspahr, Vaughn Harp and David Harp. Interment was at Holyoke Memorial Park. Lorenz was preceded in death by his parents; one son-in-law Eugene Ruby; and 18 brothers and sisters, Emma, Wilhelmina, Ferdinand, Bernhardt, Julius, Amandus, Emil, Caroline, Rudolf, Ernst, Auguste, Louise, Christine, Peter, Reinhardt, Amanda, Lydia and Arthur. He is survived by his wife Esther; children Vivian Ruby of Fort Morgan, Clyde and wife Phyllis of Holyoke, Marlys and husband Robert Harp of Brighton and Byron of Clearwater, Florida; eight grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
