He had not been in good health the past year. Deceased was born in Jefferson township, October 27, 1874, and was thirty-eight years, one month and three days old. He had not been in good health the past year. Deceased was born in Jefferson township, October 27, 1874, and was thirty-eight years, one month and three days old. Ten years ago he was united in marriage to Miss Minnie Kregel at Guttenberg. Besides the bereaved wife, one son and two daughters, he is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Thiese, of Jefferson township, seven brothers and three sisters, August and William, of Mitchell, S. D.; Ferdinand, of Pleasant Ridge; Herman, of Rockwell; Fred, Otto and George, at home; Mrs. John Biederman, of Guttenberg; Mrs. Fred Miller, of Clayton Township, and Mrs. Ed Bergmann, of Rockwell. Deceased was an industrious farmer, kind husband, an indulgent father, highly esteemed by all who knew him, and to the bereaved the many friends extend their heartfelt sympathy. A largely attended funeral was held Tuesday afternoon with services at St. John's Lutheran church by Rev. J. Janzig. Six brothers acted as pallbearers and laid to his rest in the City cemetery the body of one they loved.
