Louis was a farmer and carpenter, building all the farm buildings and house on their farm in Sec. 30, Monona Twp., after first living a few years on a farm near Guttenberg. He owned and operated a threshing rig and did custom work for many years. They were blessed with one son and ten daughters. Cyril b. 24 Oct. 1916, d. 13 July 1931, after being accidentally shot while hunting with his cousin. Violet b. 14 Dec. 1918, married to Leo McNally. Roma b. Sept. 20, 1920, married to Freddie Lahrs. Hazel b. Sept. 20, 1923, married to Harold Anderegg. Birdena b. June 23, 1925, married Elmo Behrend. Ida Mae b. Oct. 31, 1927, married to Francis Behrend (please refer to their article). LaVonne b. Nov. 4, 1929, married to Glen Mueller. Betty Lou b. Jan. 10, 1932, married to Henry Geick. Shirley Mae b. Sept. 22, 1934, married to William Sutton. Rose Marie b. Aug. 28, 1937, married to Richard Duwe. Gerene b. June 14, 1940, married to William Morarend. Louis died in 1953. Roma stayed on the farm until 1964, when she moved to Guttenberg. She died Feb. 2, 1983. Louis, Roma, and Cyril are buried in the Guttenberg Cemetery.
