Description	:	Louis Kaelke, a long-time resident of Akron and vicinity, passed away at a Le Mars nursing home on Thursday, December 26, after an extended illness. Mr. Kaelke was born at North Platte, Nebraska, on July 21, 1883 and came to Akron as a young man and engaged in farming in this vicinity until 1948. Read More	Louis Kaelke, a long-time resident of Akron and vicinity, passed away at a Le Mars nursing home on Thursday, December 26, after an extended illness. Mr. Kaelke was born at North Platte, Nebraska, on July 21, 1883 and came to Akron as a young man and engaged in farming in this vicinity until 1948. He was united in marriage with Miss Elizabeth Jammerthal, of Akron, in 1905. She passed away in 1948. He Nellye Wendt, of Akron, in 1950. She preceded him in death in 1962. Mr. Kaelke was a member of Wesley Methodist Church in Akron for many years. Surviving Mr. Kaelke are his three daughters, Mrs. Henry Ronell, of Elk Point, S. D., Mrs. Myrtle Larson, of Sioux City, and Mrs. H. A. Beutin, of Bellwood, Ill., one brother, Herman Kaelke, of Tabor, Iowa, one sister, Mrs. Minnie Waterbury, of Akron, six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon in the Schroeder Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Edward Maus officiating. Mrs. Hugh Swift, vocalist, sang "Under His Wings" and "Nearer to the Heart of God." Stanley Swanson was accompanist. Casket bearers were friends of the family. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery here, with Schroeder Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
