Concordia Daily Kansan Saturday April 12, 1913 page 1 Suicide near Morganville The wife of Walter Belisle a farmer living eight miles west of Morganville, committed suicide Wednesday afternoon at two o’clock by taking carbolic acid. The unfortunate woman has been ailing for some time and it is thought the pain temporarily deranged her mind and caused her to commit the rash act. Her husband was absent at the time but returned shortly after the poison was taken and found her suffering from the effects. Medical assistance was immediately summoned but was found of no avail as the poison had done its work and death ensued about four o’clock. She leaves five children and was about forty years old.
