Description	:	Lucille Ruth (Eddy) Hunzeker, 79, of Humboldt, Nebraska was born December 12, 1932, in Pawnee City, the third child of Esther A. and Ray R. Eddy. Her father operated a grocery business in Pawnee City and she spent many hours of her youth helping with the store. Read More	Lucille Ruth (Eddy) Hunzeker, 79, of Humboldt, Nebraska was born December 12, 1932, in Pawnee City, the third child of Esther A. and Ray R. Eddy. Her father operated a grocery business in Pawnee City and she spent many hours of her youth helping with the store. Lucille graduated from Pawnee City High School in 1950, and attended Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln, Nebraska. She was united in marriage to Donald Hunzeker on February 21, 1954, at Humboldt, Nebraska. The couple established their home on the family farm southwest of Humboldt. Lucille moved from the farm to Colonial Acres Assisted Living in Humboldt in 2000, where she resided until shortly before her death. Lucille was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Order of Eastern Star and the American Legion Auxiliary, all in Humboldt. She studied music in college and played the flute and piccolo there, as she had with her high school band. An excellent pianist, Lucille often contributed her piano skills to gatherings of church and community groups in Humboldt. She participated with the southeast Nebraska community band for a number of years after her children were grown. In addition to her lifelong love of music, Lucille enjoyed reading, sports, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren. She had a special fondness for animals, especially her dogs and caring for the farm animals as part of the family business. Lucille passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2011, at the Pawnee Manor in Pawnee City, Nebraska having reached the age of seventy-nine years and five days. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Donald, and brother John A. Eddy in 2009. Lucille is survived by four children: Lynn Orr and her husband Randy of Loveland, CO; Donna Lyons and her husband Steve of Bennett, CO; Fred Hunzeker and his wife Teresa of Elkhorn, NE; Caroline Rowland and her husband Richard of Salem, NE; seven grandchildren, Eric Boydston, Cameron Orr, William Lyons, Jenna Lyons, Riley Hunzeker, Carson Hunzeker, and Scott Rowland; one great-granddaughter, Kaitlynn Boydston; a brother Robert Eddy and his wife Carol of Longmont, CO; brother-in-law, Myron Hunzeker and his wife Joan of Peoria, IL; sisters-in-law: Ruth Elwell of Lincoln, NE; Marjorie Eddy of Boulder, CO; and Barbara Eddy of Estes Park, CO; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 21, 2011, at the First Presbyterian Church in Humboldt, Nebraska with Pastor Mary-Ellen Gaither officiating. An Eastern Star service will be conducted by O.E.S. Chapter #234 at the church. Visitation will be from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 20, 2011, at the Wherry Mortuary in Humboldt, Nebraska. Family will greet friends from 7-8 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment will be at the Humboldt Cemetery.
