The body is at the Catcott funeral home in Keosauqua where last rites are pending. Mrs. Lulu (sic) Spees was born Jan. 29, 1890, in Illinois, the daughter of James and Florence Hanawalt Fisher. When she was a small child the family moved to a farm near Birmingham. On Jan. 1, 1914, she was married to William G. Spees of Birmingham who survives. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Spees is survived by two sons, Conyer (sic. Coyner) and Edward Spees, both of Birmingham; and two daughters, Mrs. Julia A. Neuhart, Bettendorf, and Mrs. Reba Mae Vogel, Minneapolis, Minn. Seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive. ---------- Fairfield Ledger Friday, April 16, 1965 Pg. 8 Col. 2 Spees Funeral To Be Saturday BIRMINGHAM, Ia. - Last rites will be Saturday at 1 p.m. in Keosauqua for Mrs. Lulu (sic) Spees, 75, who died Wednesday in a hospital in Davenport. The services tomorrow will be at the Catcott funeral home in Keosauqua with the Rev. Wayne Lowry officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery at Fairfield. Mrs. Spees had been a patient in the hospital at Davenport for three weeks prior to her death.
