He was born Feb. 7, 1907, in Green City, Mo., to Milo and Jenny Morse Fear. He married Jennie B. Bennet (sic. Bennett) Oct. 6, 1946, in Ottumwa. She died Aug. 29, 1987. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was employed with Lanning Sign Company and Ottumwa Hosptial. He was a member of Ottumwa Concert Band. He is survived by a daughter (sic. step-daughter), Mary Graves of Ottumwa; two step-grandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; a brother, Arthur of St. Charles, Ill. and a sister, Lucille Phillips of Ottumwa. He was preceded in death by a stepgrandson and a sister, Mary Knox. The service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Rev. Robert Striegel and the Rev. Joseph Lee officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield. Visitation will begin at noon today at Robertson-Jay Funeral Home in Ottumwa with family present after the wake service at 7 p.m. Pallbearers will be John and John Jr. Knox, Dan Flanderr, William Graves III, Harvey Marshall and Roger Scales. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to his church.
