Description	:	Lydia Sophia Katharina Kottmeyer, daughter of William and Mary (Grummert) Mueller, was born on May 25, 1906, in rural Plymouth, Nebraska, and passed away Saturday, October 14, 1995, at the Good Samaritan Center in Superior, Nebraska, at the age of 89 years. Read More	Lydia Sophia Katharina Kottmeyer, daughter of William and Mary (Grummert) Mueller, was born on May 25, 1906, in rural Plymouth, Nebraska, and passed away Saturday, October 14, 1995, at the Good Samaritan Center in Superior, Nebraska, at the age of 89 years. As a little girl, Lydia, moved to a farm south of Nelson with her family in 1908. She attended rural school and was a member of Salem Lutheran Church. December 9, 1926, at Salem Lutheran she married Fredrick Henry Kottmeyer. They made their first home on a farm northwest of Superior. In 1928, they moved to a farm northwest of Bostwick where she continued to live until 1991 when she moved to the Good Samaritan Center in Superior. For many years she enjoyed gardening, farm chores and doing needle work. While living at the Good Samaritan Center, she enjoyed many activities, including games and singing. Preceding her in death were her husband, Fredrick, who died on June 9, 1948; a son, Ray, who died in 1930; her parents; five brothers, Henry Mueller, who died in 1963, Carl Mueller, who died in 1980; Edward Mueller, who died in 1968 (sic); John Mueller, who died in 1921, and William Mueller, who died in 1968; one sister, Anna Mueller, who died in 1900. Survivors include two daughters, Ruby Sund and her husband George of Guide Rock, Nebraska, and Nancy Hall and her husband Richard of Wymore, Nebraska; two sons, Roy Kottmeyer of Guide Rock, Nebraska, and Dr. Fred Kottmeyer and his wife JoAnn of Broken Bow, Nebraska; two sisters-in-law, Naomi Mueller of Nelson, Nebraska, and Elsie Mueller of Hastings, Nebraska; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and a host of friends and relatives. Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 17, 1995, at 11 a.m. at Salem Lutheran Church, rural Superior, Nebraska, with Pastor Michael Osberg officiating. Music was provided by Alfred and Janell Hanson and the congregation with Virginia Drohman as organist and accompanist. Casketbearers were Lydia's grandsons: James L. Sund, George F. Sund, Jr., Richard M. Hall, Jr., James F. Hall, Jared N. Kottmeyer, Evan J. Kottmeyer, Roy Anderson, Kif Portenier, Mark McAllister and Larry Shaw. Burial was in Salem Lutheran Church Cemetery.
