Description	:	Lyman Mollet, 78 of Vermillion, passed away Wednesday at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, IA. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 11, 2004 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Vermillion, with Fr. Rodney Farke Officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Vermillion. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Friday at Iverson-Siecke Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at the church. He was born on August 20, 1926 in Jefferson, SD. His parents were Eugene and Virginia "Jane" (Belleau) Mollet. Like his father, farming was in his blood, and he enjoyed working the land his entire life, from Jefferson to Akron when he was younger, and the just outside of Vermillion during the later part of his life. He farmed in Clay Co. for 49 years. In the fall of 1944, he joined the Merchant Marines and served during WWII for almost two years. Shortly thereafter, he met his wife-to-be, Frances Anderson, and they were married on April 20, 1949 in Sioux City, IA. They were married for 55 years. Throughout his life, he enjoyed playing cards with his friends, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren. We will always remember his big heart and wonderful sense of humor, which he never lost. He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, and F.O.E. in Vermillion. He graduated from Jefferson High School. He is survived by his wife Frances of Vermillion; sons, Gary (Mary) of Billings, MT, Craig of Portland, OR, Mark (Patti) of Burbank, SD, Kevin (Kristi) of Minneapolis, MN; daughters, Deanna (Jeff) Leffers of Billings, MT, and Denise (Tom) Knutson of Vermillion, SD; brother, Virgil, Sr. (Corrine) of Jefferson, SD; and 12 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ivan and Carl Mollet; and one grandson, Adam Knutson.
