She was born January 4, 1904, in Woodward the daughter of Lester and Viola Burkhart Davisson. She married Reuben Peterson on May 5, 1929 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Read More	Mabel Aletha Peterson, 83, 1428 Garst Avenue, died October 3, 1987 at Mary Greeley Medical Center, Ames, Iowa. She was born January 4, 1904, in Woodward the daughter of Lester and Viola Burkhart Davisson. She married Reuben Peterson on May 5, 1929 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Mabel attended Osage Country School, Woodward High School and Iowa State Teachers College, Cedar Falls. She was a teacher in several country schools for seven years. The Peterson's farmed near Ogden and later moved east of Luther. They moved to Boone in l960. She was a member of the Luther Methodist Church and later the First United Methodist Church in Boone. She was also a Sunday school teacher. She had been a 4-H leader, a member of the Farm Bureau and Boone County Hospital Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by a son, Byron, a sister, Lola, and two brothers, Harold and Leland. Survivors include her husband, Reuben of Boone; two sons, Roger of Madrid and Richard of Fairfax; three sisters, Helen Bork of Ames, Ruth Rinker of Waterloo and Rachel Lottman of Woodward; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church with the Revs. Edward Meyer and Mary Green officiating. Burial will be in Peoples Cemetery. Friends may call at Schroeder Mortuary until 9 p.m. today and on Tuesday from 8 until 11 a.m. The family will receive friends at the motruary from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight.
