Read More	Stratford Courier January 30, 1930 OBITUARY Mrs. Mae Deo Saturday afternoon, the community was shocked to hear of the sudden and untimely death of Mrs. Mae Deo, for many years a well known resident of Stratford. For many years she had not been in the best of health but through courage has been able to be about her duties every day. While at her work in the Avon Cafe she suffered a severe fainting spell and on Saturday had seemed to improve until she suddenly grew worse and succumbed. Mabel Edna Wilson, oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nathan T. Wilson, was born at Parkersburg, Iowa, July 24, 1870, and at her death she was 59 years, 6 months, 1 day old. While still a small child the family moved to a farm near Stratford where she grew to young womanhood. On Dec. 25, 1891 she united in marriage to A.L. Deo, to which union were born two children, Ray Wilson and Mildred Irene. On November 15, 1899, the family were called upon to mourn the accidental death of a loving husband and father. The duty of rearing her children was most faithfully performed by an ever loving and devoted mother. No matter how difficult the task she never wavered but faced each with a cheerful countenance and a willing hand. In 1912, she welcomed into her home her infant niece, Roberta Wilson, to whom she has given every attention and care which only a loving mother could. She united with the M.E. church early in life and later became a member of the Ladies Aid society in both of which she has been a consistent and tireless worker. Her entire life was spent in sacrifice for others. Her father, mother and one sister, Cora, have preceded her to the great beyond several years ago. She leaves to mourn her passing, a son, Ray W., and a daughter, Mrs. Orris Poulson, and granddaughter, Miss Roberta Wilson, one sister, Mrs. Will F. Olofson, of Hammil, S. Dak, four granddaughter and many other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were conducted at the Methodist church Tuesday afternoon by the pastor of the church, Rev. C.R. Yeager. Warren Dodge, of Webster City, sang a beautiful solo and a mixed quartette composed of Mrs. S.E. Shaeffer, Mrs. George Peterson, A.T. Johnson, and Sam Swedlund, sang two numbers. Interment was made in Oakwood Cemetery.
