She had been in ill health the past year. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Baptist church in Stratford with the Rev. Kirwin Goodwin officiating and with burial in the South Marion cemetery near Stratford. Mabel Ruth Carlson, daughter of F.A. and Jennie Carlson, was born Aug. 31, 1898, on a farm near Stratford. She received her education in the Stratford schools and grew to young womanhood in that community. She was united in marriage Dec. 29, 1920, to Leonard Angstrom, and the couple farmed in the Stratford community until 1953, when they moved into Stratford, the family home since. She is survived by her husband; two sons, LuVerne Angstrom and Merlin Angstrom, both of Stratford; 11 grandchildren; two sisters and three brothers, Mrs. Floyd (Gladys) Young, Stratford; Mrs. Ethel Town, Webster City, Roy F. Carlson of Stratford, Glenn H. Carlson, Jewell, and Lester M. Carlson of Boone. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, who died in infancy. Mrs. Angstrom was a member of the Stratford Baptist church. She was a past president of the American Legion Auxiliary of Stratford and also past president of the Hamilton County Legion Auxiliary. She had held numerous church offices, was past president of the Ladies Aid, and was active in civic affairs in Stratford.
