Read More	HOLD RITES FOR ESTEEMED UNION COUNTY WOMAN Mrs. Lawrence Ericson Passed Away After A Brief Illness Mrs. Lawrence Ericson departed this life last Tuesday evening, November 15, 1955, at the Akron Community Hospital as the result of an illness of one day's duration. She was 51 years, 8 months and 5 days of age. Mae Fern Johnson was born at Arthur, Iowa, March 10, 1904. Her parents were John and Anna Johnson. She attended and graduated from the schools in Odebolt, Iowa. In 1923 her parents and family moved to a farm in Union county, S.D., in the Union Creek community. In August, 1924, she became a communicant member of the Union Creek Lutheran church and had been an unusually active and interested member ever since. Also, shortly after coming to this vicinity, she served as a teacher in the public schools in this area. Just five days before Christmas on December 20, in 1927, she was united in marriage with Mr. Lawrence Ericson. Together they had lived on farms in this community ever since. To all who knew her, it was clearly evident that her church, her Savior, and her Bible meant a great deal to her. Particularly was she known as one whose faith and optimism was inconquerable and unquenchable. She enjoyed seeing the sun shining and did all she could to brighten the atmosphere around her. Those surviving her untimely departure include: Her husband, Lawrence; her daughters, Mrs. Audrey Ericson and Mrs. Joann Hedeby, both of Akron; two grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Elsie Bair, of Ida Grove; Mrs. Esther Hultgren, of Akron, and Mrs. Cora Adamson, of Alcester; two brothers, Clifford Johnson, of Oakland; Nebr., and Reuben Johnson, of Ida Grove; many other relatives and her large circle of friends. Funeral services were held Friday at 2:00 p.m., in the Union Creek Lutheran church, Rev. David J. Roy officiating. Robert Mills sang "My God and I" and "What a Friend We Have in Jesus." Mrs. Henry Fickbohm was organist. Pallbearers were Chris Lucht, Oscar Anderson, Lloyd Miller, Lowell Anderson, Marvin Powell and Herman Lucht, and Robert Ericson was honorary bearer.
