Ericson, a lifetime resident northwest of here in Union county, S.D., passed away Saturday, January 23, in a hospital at Rochester, Minn., after a two weeks illness, aged 62 years, 10 months and 13 days. Ericson, a lifetime resident northwest of here in Union county, S.D., passed away Saturday, January 23, in a hospital at Rochester, Minn., after a two weeks illness, aged 62 years, 10 months and 13 days. Lawrence Emmanuel Ericson was born to Mr. and Mrs. William Ericson, of Union county, S.D., March 10, 1902. On December 27, 1927, he married Mae Fern Johnson and this union was blessed with two daughters. His wife passed away November 15, 1955. On January 17, 1960, he married Cecelia Merrigan at Vermilion, S.D. Left to mourn his departure are his widow, Cecelia; two daughters, Audrey (Mrs. Ray) Ericson and JoAnn (Mrs. Eric) Hedeby, both of Akron; three stepsons, Wayne and Darrell Merrigan, of Vermillion, S.D., and Pat Merrigan, of Fullerton, Calif.; one brother, Milton Ericson, of Rock Rapids, Iowa, and three sisters, Mrs. Wilma Claeys and Mrs. Miriam Enockson, of Sioux City, and Mrs. Evelyn Waterman, of Akron, and 19 grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in Union Creek Lutheran church, Rev. David J. Roy officiating. Miss Debbie Clark was vocalist and Mrs. Henry Fickbohm was organist. Casket bearers were Chris, Lucht, Marvin Powell, Eldon Seely, Ray Heeren, Lloyd Miller and Max Vreugdenhil.
