Morrow Passed Away Tuesday Malcolm Conrad Morrow passed away in his home in the Kaulbach apartments in this city at 12:15 Tuesday morning from a heart attack. Mr. Morrow had been in rather poor health for the past several weeks and spent a week at the hospital, returning to his home last Friday. The news of his death cast a shadow of sorrow throughout the city and county where he had resided for many years. Mr. Morrow was loved and highly respected by all who knew him. He came of pioneer stock as his father, Malcolm Morrow, came to Montana in 1862 with the gold rush to Alder Gulch at Helena. In 1865 he was married to Miss Mary Ann Travis. They came to Chouteau county in 1879 and resided here until their deaths in October and November 1921. After becoming old enough the deceased assisted with the Morrow cattle business in this county for a number of years. About 1912 he left this county and went to Cascade where he conducted a livestock ranch for about 20 years and also assisted with a hardware business there. Selling the ranch he went to Spokane, Wash., for a couple years and returned to Fort Benton about 12 years ago as an employee of the livestock division of the Spokane Federal Land Bank, which he held until his death. Mr. Morrow was born at Rockcreek, Mont., on June 16, 1876, and was a little over 68 years of age at the time of his death. He was united in marriage to Miss Ada Bright at Highwood, Mont., Dec. 16, 1903. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Karl W. Gallagher, of Reno, Nev.; two sons, Malcolm C. Morrow, Jr., of Potrerillos, Chili, and Howard V. Morrow, who is serving with the armed forces overseas. He is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Bertha Lenning, of Fort Benton; Mrs. Jeannette Thorne, of Shelby; Leonard H. Morrow, of Great Falls; Mrs. Harry Whitcomb, of Malta; Dewey Morrow, of San Diego, Calif.; besides other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services will be held from the Cloyd chapel this Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. and will be conducted by the Rev. W. Friend Day, pastor of the Episcopal church of this city, of which he was a member. Burial will be made in the family plot in Riverside cemetery. The relatives have the sincere sympathy of all in their bereavement and the state and county loses another of its early day residents who had witnessed the development of Montana from its early stages to the present time.
