Read More	Services Here Today for Mrs. Featherston, Former Local Resident Funeral services will be held at the Graettinger Methodist church at three o'clock this afternoon (Thursday) for Mrs. Mamie Curry Featherston, 66, of Kingsley, Ia., former longtime Graettinger resident. Mrs. Featherston died Monday [September 26, 1955] evening about 7 p.m. in a LeMars hospital after being quite ill for the past two months. Her death was attributed to a heart ailment and resulting complications. She had been hospitalized the past two weeks. Services will be held at Kingsley at 10 a.m. this (Thursday) morning. Rev. John Amundsen will officiate at the services at the Methodist church here. Burial will be in the Methodist cemetery east of Graettinger. Pallbearers will be Geo. McCarty, Wilfred McCarty of Graettinger; August Andresen, Wallingford; Robert Woods, George Grims of Gruver; and Fred Elwood of Estherville. Mrs. Featherston was born Dec. 27, 1888 in Tama county and lived much of her life in the Graettinger vicinity. She was united in marriage to Fred Featherston Nov. 8, 1952. She is survived by her husband, seven children by a previous marriage, and a step-daughter. Surviving sons are Herbert W. and Benton W. Curry of Graettinger, Ira M. Curry of Estherville, Gilbert C. Curry of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Robert P. Curry of Tucson, Ariz. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ellwood Erickson of Albany, Oregon; Mrs. Ellsworth Woods of Des Moines, and a step-daughter, Mrs. Harry Stevens of La Porte, Ind. She is also survived by her mother, Mrs. Benton Weir of Estherville, and brothers, Frank, John and Charles Weir of Graettinger, Jesse Weir of Sauk Center, Minn. and Pete Weir of Altkin, Minn. Twenty-three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren are also among the survivors. (Graettinger Times, Graettinger, IA, September 29, 1955)
