Description	:	Margaret Grummert, daughter of John D. and Charlotte Sophia Kuper Eilers, was born December 18, 1892, near Swanton, Saline County, Nebraska, and passed away October 25, 1976, at her home southeast of Nelson, Nebraska, at the age of 83 years, 10 months and seven days. While very young she moved with her parents to Nuckolls County, Nebraska. April 25, 1893 she was received by baptism. Margaret was the first baptism recorded in the records of Salem Lutheran Church. Read More	Margaret Grummert, daughter of John D. and Charlotte Sophia Kuper Eilers, was born December 18, 1892, near Swanton, Saline County, Nebraska, and passed away October 25, 1976, at her home southeast of Nelson, Nebraska, at the age of 83 years, 10 months and seven days. While very young she moved with her parents to Nuckolls County, Nebraska. April 25, 1893 she was received by baptism. Margaret was the first baptism recorded in the records of Salem Lutheran Church. She received her education at the rural Garfield School southeast Nelson. She was confirmed in Salem Lutheran Church on April 8, 1906. Margaret was a faithful member of Salem Lutheran. For many years she sang in the choir and also took an active part in the ladies aid. April 26, 1911, she was married to William F. Grummert. To this union three children were born. She lived all her life to Nuckolls County, being a widow since 1918. She leaves to mourn her passing two sons, Alfred of the home and Wilfred of Omaha; one daughter, Mrs. Earl (Edna) Petz of Nelson; brother, Otto Eilers of Nelson; three sisters, Mrs. Eilert (Hattie) Bargen of Nora, Mrs. Carl (Elsie) Mueller of Nelson and Mrs. C. A. (Erna) Hinz of Ruskin; two grandsons; three granddaughters and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held from the Salem Lutheran Church on Thursday, October 28. Rev. Ray Ensign officiated. Burial was in the Salem Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural superior. The Klawitter Funeral Home of Nelson was in charge of funeral arrangements. Casket bearers were Glen Mueller, Lyndall Bargen, Albert Grummert, Robert Eilers, Marvin Mueller and Raymond Grummert. The Nelson Gazette (Nelson, NE), Thursday, November 4, 1976; pg. 5
