Description	:	Margaret Hericks passed away at her home in Terra Linda on March 4, 2012. She is survived by three daughters, Sandra Hunter, Linda (James) Smith, Mary (Charles) Lawrence and one son, William Hericks, along with four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Margaret came into this world on May 21, 1919 in Hoven, South Dakota. In her 92 years she has seen many changes in the world. She was raised on a farm without electricity and indoor plumbing. Read More	Margaret Hericks passed away at her home in Terra Linda on March 4, 2012. She is survived by three daughters, Sandra Hunter, Linda (James) Smith, Mary (Charles) Lawrence and one son, William Hericks, along with four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Margaret came into this world on May 21, 1919 in Hoven, South Dakota. In her 92 years she has seen many changes in the world. She was raised on a farm without electricity and indoor plumbing. On snowy winter days she was often taken to St Anthony Catholic School in a horse drawn sleigh. She lived during the Roaring 20's, the Great Depression, and World War II. During the war she went to work as a riveter, building war planes in Wichita, Kansas. After the war she returned to Hoven where she dated her future husband, Leo Hericks, who had returned from serving his country in the Pacific campaign. Margaret took a job providing domestic duties for Governor George Mickelson of SD. She was so liked and respected by the Governor and his wife that they asked to be invited to their wedding. After her marriage she spent the rest of her life as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She assisted with recess duties at St Isabella Catholic School and with CCD classes. She was also famous for the delicious cookies she made and provided to many as gifts and was known as "The Cookie Queen". Margaret had a loving spirit and everyone felt welcome in her home. She will be missed by those that knew her, but will be welcomed into Heaven by her many friends and family that went before her, including Leo, her husband of 58 years.
