She was born June 27, 1917 in Salem, the daughter of the late Harold and Bertha (Wire) Williams. Before her retirement, she had been employed at Fenton Art Glass in Williamstown, W. Va., for 40 years. She was a 1935 graduate of Salem High School and was a member of the Salem First Presbyterian Church. She was born June 27, 1917 in Salem, the daughter of the late Harold and Bertha (Wire) Williams. Before her retirement, she had been employed at Fenton Art Glass in Williamstown, W. Va., for 40 years. She was a 1935 graduate of Salem High School and was a member of the Salem First Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the March Group of the church and was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority Salem Chapter. Margaret enjoyed sewing and excelled at growing violets. Her husband, Carl McQuilkin, whom she married Oct. 12, 1935, preceded her in death May 27, 2003. Two sisters also preceded her in death, Martha Hiltebrand and Eleanor Goddard. Survivors include a daughter, Carol (Richard) Dougherty of Salem; two grandchildren, Colleen Dougherty and husband Scott Sweeney of Maynard, Mass., and Kelly Laubacher of Salem; and two great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Lauren. A niece, Anita Emmerling and a nephew, Ward Hiltebrand, also survive her. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at the Salem First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. Meta Cramer officiating. Calling hours will be held on Thursday at the church library from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the services. Burial will be at Hope Cemetery.
