Mr. Warrior, a former pastor of Mt. Etna. Interment was made in Victoria cemetery, about five miles north of Mt. Etna. Margaret Angus was born in Ross-shire, Scotland July 27, 1847 and died at Mt. Etna, Iowa April 5, 1918. She was converted and united with the Methodist church of La Prairie Center, Illinois in 1871 and was a member of the M. E. church of Mt. Etna at the time of her death. She leaves to mourn her loss five brothers: James of Marysville, British Columbia, John of Corning, Thomas and Robert of Victoria Township, Cass County, and William of Mt. Etna with whom she made her home. Also, three sisters: Mrs. J. P. Cupp, of Corning, Mrs. W. D. Bell of Massena, and Violet, at home, who was with her in her last illness. A good sister and loyal friend has passed to the other side. Adams County Free Press April 13, 1918 Death Mt. Etna Lady The death of Miss Margaret Angus of Mt. Etna vicinity occurred Friday afternoon, April 5, at 12:15 o'clock following an illness of several weeks. The funeral was held Sunday at 2 o'clock at the Methodist church at Mt. Etna, the services being conducted by Rev. W. H. Warrior, a former pastor now located at Arispe. Interment was made in the German cemetery in Victoria township, Cass county, near her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Angus, Sr. the father passing away in 1881, and the mother in 1906. Also a brother, Alec, and a sister, Jane, are buried in the Victoria cemetery and a brother Ad is buried at Mt. Etna cemetery. Margaret Angus was born in Ross Shire, Scotland, July 27, 1847, and was aged 70 years, 8 months, and 9 days. When a young child she was brought to America and the family resided for a time in Illinois and then removed to Iowa residing a year and a half at Atlantic, while preparations were going on at the new claim in the edge of Cass county and a portion of timber land in Adams county. They removed to the new home in 1872, where the large family of sons and daughters were reared, and which is yet retained in the father's name. Margaret was the eldest child and for thirty-five years has kept house for her brother, Will, next eldest, residing north of Mt. Etna nearly all that period on the old Burrus place, having purchased it a number of years ago. Deceased became a member of the Methodist church at LaPrairie Center, Illinois in 1871 and later transferred her membership to the Methodist church at Mt. Etna. For many years she taught the infant Sunday school class in the church and it was a matter of great pride to her that she had been the means of starting so many little tots, many now grown, on the road to a Christian life. She leaves the following brothers and sisters: William with whom she lived, James residing at Marysville, B. C.; Robert, Thomas, and Miss Violet, who reside on the home farm; John Angus, Mrs. J. P. Cupp of Corning, Mrs. W. D. Bell of Massena.
